The X-Files Game Linux port

Shiloh · by Asterber

About this port

Asterber's independently written Rust engine for the 1998 PC version of The X-Files Game, using the player's own Russian 1.00 or English DVD Edition data. Native SDL2 and locally hosted WebAssembly front ends; known late-game workaround remains.

Requirements

Own The X-Files Game PC data: Russian 1.00 installed release or English DVD Edition 2.05 disc image. Optional local ffmpeg conversion needed for QDMC music; without it those tracks remain silent. glibc2.35+, system X11/Wayland, OpenGL and ALSA/PulseAudio; SDL2 bundled.

Final Mulder chase cannot be won with normal clicks; use Artificial Intuition hint action. Retail CDs untested. Some English 2.05 behavior follows Russian 1.00 rather than exact 2.05. Maintainer playthrough reports are not independent validation. CI-built Linux archive has not been play-tested.
