About this port

GioPixelGH's native Windows port of the PAL PlayStation 2 game, based on HAB3X's Mac port of Smartkin's C++ decompilation. Uses SDL3 and OpenGL, with a documented Linux source build. Requires the owner's SLES-52568 disc image.

Platform support & installation

PC

Native

Requirements

64-bit Windows 10/11; OpenGL 3.3 GPU; own unmodified PAL Europe/Australia PS2 disc image (SLES-52568, ISO/BIN/IMG). Unzip the official ZIP, keep bundled files together, run CrashTwinsanity.exe and select the disc image. No game data is included according to the maintainer.

Sources

USA/Japan editions unsupported. Maintainer reports completion to credits, but playability is not independently verified. Open issue #4 reports AMD ROG Ally Z1E startup hangs, graphics glitches and later crashes; disabling the render thread helped startup only. An early-version cutscene replay freeze remains noted, unreproduced since v1.0.3. Unsigned executable.

Build required

Native

Requirements

Own PAL SLES-52568 PS2 disc image, about 3 GB build space and internet for the first build. Clang 21+, CMake, Ninja, Python environment, PS2 toolchain headers and documented SDL backend development packages. Build script builds SDL3 and decode-only FFmpeg; tested by contributors on Debian 13.

Sources

No official Linux download is published. AppImage packaging is documented but must be built locally; resulting AppImage needs glibc at least as new as its build host plus system graphics/audio backends. Full Linux playthrough not independently verified. macOS support is not claimed for this fork.
