About this recompilation

hjcoggan’s static recompilation of the 2007 European PC edition of Virtua Tennis 3 for ARM64 Android and Apple Silicon macOS. Includes an x86-to-C translator and Win32/DirectSound/Direct3D 9 runtime, using Vulkan and a macOS OpenGL fallback. Users build from their own game files; no prebuilt download is offered.

Build required

Native ARM64 static recompilation; Vulkan renderer

Requirements

A legitimately owned European multilingual PC DVD image and a separately supplied English v1.0.1 VT3.exe without disc protection; the build validates the executable. No original data or executable is supplied. Python 3.10+, CMake, Ninja, glslang and platform build toolchains are required. Android 10+, ARM64, Vulkan and about 4.5 GB free; Android SDK/NDK and JDK for building.

Sources

Only the European PC edition is tested. The required unprotected executable is separate from the DVD; the repository does not establish an official acquisition route. Maintainer reports Retroid Pocket/Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 testing, not general device coverage. Android audio/loading stutter, sleep/wake black-screen fix and shadow verification remain unresolved in developer notes; tournament automation can stall. Linux/Windows build-host instructions are untested. No release APK is provided.

Requirements

A legitimately owned European multilingual PC DVD image and a separately supplied English v1.0.1 VT3.exe without disc protection; the build validates the executable. No original data or executable is supplied. Python 3.10+, CMake, Ninja, glslang and platform build toolchains are required. Apple Silicon Mac and SDL3/MoltenVK/Vulkan development dependencies; macOS is required to build the desktop app, with about 4 GB unpacked data.

Bundled app startup on a clean Mac without Homebrew dependencies remains unverified. Developer notes retain tournament-route stalls; no prebuilt app download or Intel Mac target is documented.
