About this decompilation

Nolffan’s reconstructed LithTech engine and rebuilt NOLF GOTY game code, adding renderers, widescreen support and retail fixes. Targets the European PC GOTY version1.003; original disc data required. Linux runs the rebuilt Windows executable through Wine or Proton.

Native 32-bit Windows rebuilt engine

Requirements

Own both supported European GOTY 1.003 disc images (ISO, BIN/CUE or ZIP); installer checks exact checksums and rejects other editions. Extract into a new, empty directory, not over an existing installation; copy the old Save folder separately. 32-bit Windows runtime support required; converted BIN/ZIP images need about 0.6 GB temporary free space per disc.

Alpha software; Windows less tested. Release reports Wine/Proton testing while README still calls Proton setup untested; device-wide support not established. Tagged changelog reports a DirectInput startup-crash fix under an Unreleased heading; this does not prove Windows startup works.

macOS

CrossOver / Wine; Windows x86 binary, not native macOS

Requirements

Own both supported EU GOTY 1.003 disc images (ISO, BIN/CUE or ZIP), with exact checksums required. Use the nightly's mac-install.command in a new, empty folder, then launch NOLF.exe in a Windows 10 CrossOver bottle or suitable Wine for macOS. Preserve existing saves separately.

Rolling nightly, not the tagged v0.0.3-alpha package; build checks only and new regressions possible. The Mac installer was checked on Linux, not macOS, and the maintainer has not tried the game in CrossOver. macOS versions, CPU compatibility and actual playability are not established.
