About this port

sprucey149's Rust engine combining the original PS2 Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefront II, with native Windows and Linux builds. Requires the player's own NTSC-U PS2 discs of both games and a controller. Source-built, unfinished fan project; not the later EA games or Classic Collection.

Platform support & installation

PC

Build required

Requirements

Own NTSC-U PS2 ISOs of Star Wars: Battlefront (SLUS-20898) and Battlefront II (SLUS-21240); Rust with Visual Studio C++ Build Tools, Python 3, Git for Windows/bash, ffmpeg, DirectX 12 or Vulkan GPU, game controller. pack.py extracts, bakes and compiles a local executable (about 3 GB).

Sources

Controller-only; no keyboard/mouse gameplay. Work in progress. Combines the PS2 games rather than reproducing either as a standalone PC edition. PLAN lists campaigns, splitscreen and LAN as roadmap work, not confirmed features; macOS is a planned target, not documented working support. Locally packed output contains original assets and must not be redistributed.
