About this port

Independent Rust/Bevy engine reimplementation by solarfren69420 using the player’s H2Overdrive arcade data, with optional Hydro Thunder Dreamcast USA data for additional courses and boats. Linux source build and browser WebGPU version are documented. Requires original game archives; collision, career, menus and some Hydro Thunder features remain unfinished.

Native Rust/Bevy engine built from source

Requirements

Own H2Overdrive (2009 PC-based arcade) triton.lux required; documented revision is 3,300,747,006 bytes, LUX v3. Optional Hydro Thunder Dreamcast USA T-9702N V1.020 GDI plus all 37 track files adds its courses/boats; CDI, CHD and ISO are not read directly. Pinned Rust toolchain, Vulkan GPU/driver and Bevy Linux dependencies; generate local sheets from own data before building.

Collision can trap boats; career/upgrades, chaser AI, Hydro Thunder checkpoint times and music are unfinished. Minimal front-end menus; approximate visual effects. README multiplayer checklist contradicts detailed online-race section; split-screen and server-side movement validation are absent. No independent gameplay testing.
